My Galleries depict topics I like: Music, from hot jazz to classical piano; Animals, and with dog portraits, wild deer and horses; Landscapes where I’ve admired nature’s wonders in the US, France, England and Spain; Romance, for its a glorious adventure; Sports for a whimsical look at fishing, golf, poker and boules; Still Life that that captivates through shapes and colors; and heroes like Marines returning home and a tribute to 9/11. Uniquely Fallbrook focuses on my town’s icons: avocados and black Labrador Retrievers.
I am inspired by the moment. My paintings use only three primary colors but are rich and bold colorful evocative images derived through many translucent layers of watercolor glazes. Some paintings tell a story, others capture a fleeting glance to let the observer experience a personal emotional moment. The planned and frequently accidental experience of mixing water with pigment is spiritual.
I have always been an artist. Starting with a professional career as an art director in advertising after studying art and graphic design at the Art Center College of Design, creating beauty through art has been my passion.
My representational watercolors have been exhibited in galleries and shows throughout San Diego and in Arizona, and are in private collections in England, France, Spain, Japan and the United States.
welcome to the world as seen through my eyes
